Maryville university to Redevelop center for Esports space

Maryville university will look to redevelopment the woods Mill center in St. Louis with an eye toward an esports arena as part of the evolution of the property.

The project proposal includes a multipurpose education, Camiseta Manchester City athletics and esports venue seating up to 3,000 people. A separate residence hall will house 400 students and provide 6,000 square feet for retail space.

“Our commitment to state-of-the-art athletic and academic facilities requires an innovative approach to expansion,” said Maryville president mark Lombardi. “Our four-time national champion esports teams are known around the world for their domination in the sport. The arena will provide local fans an opportunity to watch esports competitions as well as for our basketball, wrestling and Camiseta Bayer 04 Leverkusen volleyball teams.”

Multiple commercial retail spaces, outdoor plazas, and bike and pedestrian pathways are part of the design. The school is actively working with city officials and traffic engineers to improve neighborhood traffic flow while enhancing streetscape and infrastructure.

“The project gives new life to a critical corner in need of revitalization,” said Rusty Keeley, chief executive officer of Keeley Companies, who will partner with Maryville and KEAT Properties on the project. “This development provides Maryville with the innovative, world-class spaces it deserves as one of the fastest-growing learning institutions in the country.”
